Website Redesign

A digital platform built to share Matt’s story, amplify the Foundation’s mission, and inspire action for those impacted by paralysis.

Never quit. Overcome. Forever forward. — A visual and narrative tribute to resilience and community.

Strategy & Execution

I designed and built a custom website for the Matt Brown Foundation to serve as a heartfelt online hub supporting their mission of granting mobility, offering hope, and fostering community for individuals living with paralysis. Built to inspire, inform, and facilitate action.

Deliverables Included:

  • Full Squarespace website build

  • Content strategy and messaging

  • Visual direction and color palette

  • Image selection and layout

  • Donation platform integration

  • Mobile responsiveness

Platform Guidance & Support

Beyond design and build, I provided comprehensive guidance to ensure the MBF team had a sustainable, scalable digital presence that fit their goals and resources.

  • Platform Selection: Recommended Squarespace as the most effective option for its balance of elegant design flexibility, ease of use for non-technical staff, and integrated functionality (menus, forms, newsletter sign-ups, SEO).

  • Domain Purchase & Connection: Supported the team through domain purchase, DNS configuration, and secure connection to the new website.

  • Pricing Transparency: Outlined various Squarespace plans, helping the team understand cost tiers and select the most appropriate option for their needs and budget.

  • Training & Handoff: Provided guidance on updating content, adding new events or announcements, and managing the site independently post-launch.

  • Ongoing Support: Ensured that the platform setup positioned Zocca for smooth day-to-day management while remaining scalable as the restaurant grows.

Key Messaging & Story Anchors

  • Highlighted the Foundation’s mission to assist individuals and families impacted by paralysis through grants such as accessible vehicles, home modifications, and essential adaptive equipment.

  • Emphasized Matt’s personal journey: from a high school spinal cord injury in 2010 to becoming a motivational speaker and college graduate from Stonehill College.

  • Framed messaging around community strength, philanthropic impact (over $300K in grants awarded since founding in 2020), and major events.

Visual Direction

  • A clean, modern design with uplifting visuals and strong emotional resonance—reflective of themes like perseverance, community unity, and overcoming adversity

  • Seamless integration of impactful images (e.g., MBF events, community support snapshots, Matt’s story visuals)

  • A warm yet bold palette to evoke optimism and strength, paired with typography emphasizing clarity and empathy

Working with Steph has been an absolute dream. I often feel like I am in uncharted waters when it comes to some of the technological things we try and do at the foundation. When I come to her with questions about the things I would like to do, Steph always takes the time to walk me through what works and what doesn't. Her work ethic is second to none and I can't envision working through things with anyone else. We have been so lucky to have her!

Matt Brown

I feel incredibly fortunate to have partnered with Matt and the Foundation on this project—bringing their mission, story, and community impact to life through a digital platform that will continue to inspire and empower others.
